When I go walking, I see many things of beauty and peace,
Or sitting on the porch swing, just swinging with ease,
Passing a creek and taking a little swim, a blue bird perching there,
Or a velvet rose sprinkled with dew, sparkling like diamonds, just tossed in the air.
Things of joy come to mind, when I go hiking up a glorious mountain,
Looking at the secrets it holds in its hand, or a spring-like fountain,
Bursting with sunlight, on a lazy Spring day filled with graceful charm,
And walking up to the mountain-top with my sweetheart on my arm.
Down in the valley I can see it all colored in green, with violets galore,
I think of the things God made, all this wonder, and then more,
Wild flowers on a hillside, just bursting with colorful design,
I guess when God made all of these things, He had this in mind.
A spring flowing down the mountain, birds chirping as they drink nearby,
So beautiful as to wonder that we all don’t sit there and sigh,
Trees of splendor, keep shading all around and in a breeze,
As the water swirls round and round running on through the trees.
Bright yellow tulips in the Springtime, with the lilacs all abloom,
The aroma sweet like honey, knowing Summer is coming on soon,
Then there’s the Fall with squirrels gathering nuts for Winters haul,
So come go with me, as we walk through life, with the joy of it all.
