THAT LIGHT

Away in the corner
A light stood there,
Happy and glowing,
Not one single care.

Although it's sad to admit,
He was not aware
His life could be extinguished
With a slight gust of air,

But he kept on shining,
And lo and behold,
The little light in the corner,
Became very bold.

He lived a good life,
For he had shone his best,
Until he discovered,
There wasn't much time left,

Of the life which he had lived,
For quite some time,
But his life is much
Different than mine.

He was happy and glowing,
Not one single care,
While I was worrying and waiting,
For that slight gust of air.

Now I can see
Because of the little light,
I must burn brightly,
And live my life right,

Not flickering, but to shine,
Until I run out of time.
