It's Spring Again

It’s in the early spring that we see new sprouts of life.
We know all the ice and cold is gone; no more hard strife.
There are the yellow daffodils opening with a smile.
I sit and look at the glorious wonder of nature for awhile.

Roses are budding, of the red white and yellow all aglow.
Soon they shall be opened widely, and then we'll know
It’s about time to start spring flowering all around.
Making new flower beds right there in the rich ground.

I know our Lord loves the flowers; either tiny or big and round.
He planted them over the earth just for us; knowing we're bound.
We go and gather them in baskets to take to the old and ill.
There are many flowers in the valley, and some upon the hill.

In my heart I watch for the tulips and bluebells every spring.
It seems there’s so much joy in the aroma and colors they bring.
My Grandma taught me how to feed and make me to know
The plants need some sun and shade; water too, to grow.

I can see this old country home where she taught me the knack.
We would work all morning, and then go have a little snack.
I guess she caused me to love the flowers, for every year
I still try to plant a few, to give us all a little cheer.
