IN HONOR OF

Today I heard about your sorrow, I know not what to say,
To bring comfort to your heart, make you feel better today.
Unless I quietly remind you, of what a good soul was your man,
Think of all the good times, all the bliss, and all the joy you can.

Remember he's not gone from you forever, you'll meet him there one day,
In the loving arms of Jesus, then you'll have so much to say,
How the Savior paved the streets with gold, and how he leads the way,
For all who love and trust Him, as he did that eventful day.

See him in the eyes of a daughter, or the smile of a beloved son,
Remember the time you met him, and how his heart you truly won.
No he's not gone forever, and the Lord might still have work for you to do,
There's still the little ones, who might need your gentle nurturing too.

So do try to think of your loved one in Heaven, away from all pain and strife,
There with Jesus feeding him fruit, that He picked from the Tree of Life.
Remembering the sorrow, that one has to stay, and the other has to grieve,
But one day those Pearly Gates will open, then He'll call for you to leave.

Then once again you'll be together, there, where the river never runs dry,
There on the bosom of Abraham, and Isaac, never more the need to cry.
In the mansion prepared not with hands, but with the Holiness and Glory of His love,
And there your loved one waits for you, with the Father up above.
