I know, dear Lord there are many things Thou would have me do,
That you would forever have my heart faithful and true,
But sometimes like Paul, I do the things I would not,
And do not the things that I would and cause a guilty blot.

But I know we art human and cannot totally, of sin be free,
But most times I admittedly yearn to be more likened unto Thee,
Where the realms of Heaven are perfection in all ways every day,
Help me and others dear Lord, more like Thee to be in every way.

I want to be with Thee there my Lord, walking through the pearl realm gate,
Of the Heavenly scene that's in my mind, I can hardly wait.
Help me keep my heart clean and pure, as closely as I can,
Be kind and cheerful to every living woman, child or man.

Help me to know my limits, all the things I cannot withstand,
And do the things I would and not do the things I wouldn't in this land,
I know You understand the way it is my Lord, Thou made me as I am,
I am not or will I ever be so pure and perfect as Thy son, the Holy Lamb.

But I know I must try with all my heart to understand Thy ways,
To try to be a blessing to Thee dear Lord, all my living days,
Make a mark for Thee on someone's soul, before this earth I leave,
And Pray that many will read your word and on Thy name believe.
