Lord bring me to Heaven so I may be with Thee too,
But Heaven can wait, if you have more things for me to do,
I can hardly wait to be there, in the regal glow of Thy sweet love,
But if you need me here for a while, I can wait for Heaven above.

Until I have finished all the work you have set for my hand to do,
Id really like to bring more souls up there, Lord to You
I see the glimmering moonlight, I see the sunsets so gloriously fair,
But for just a little while, can Heaven wait for me up there?

Its Thy honor and glory I would like to fulfill down here,
So many Lord, who wait so long, but let Heaven be near,
I want to see the river of life, running as clear as crystal blue,
And walk the streets of gold, eat of the tree of life too.

But there is clamor and evil here on earth Lord, as you well know,
It seems what e’er we do or say, Satan is sure to with us go,
Until we tell him to get behind us, we’re soldiers of the Cross,
And he can never have us, as Thee oh Lord said, we wouldn’t suffer loss.

So if Heaven can wait just a while, help me Lord to do all you need of me,
So one day on Heaven’s shore, hopefully I too can see,
Not darkly as through a glass, but clearly and somber let me at the gate
Have all the love there is to be, by asking for Heaven to wait.
